Hands up who has, old bras & swimwear stuffed in the back of the drawer unworn?
This spring Jayleen Considine from beachmaternity.com.au wants you to clean them out and hand them over to the “Support your neighbour” Campaign for Project Uplift.
Business owner Jayleen Considine was looking for a way to help the community when Project Uplift was suggested. “ As a business we have a responsibility to support our community. Selling maternity swimwear, it felt natural to help other mothers who need nursing bras, cloth nappies and swimwear, all of which we take for granted”.
Our neighbour’s who live across the pacific often live without a bra. Second hand bras are sometimes available, but are rare particularly in larger sizes and new can cost up to 30 hours wages. Imagine if you had to suffer the Rashes, fungal infections and abscesses that can occur between the breast and the chest wall. As new mums will know Nursing mums everywhere leak, with donated bras breastfeeding mums can wear breast pads, which reduce the risk of passing infections such as thrush to their babies. Mothers often buy disposable nappies one at a time due to the expense and inability to dispose of them safely
You can help by donating your old bras, nursing/maternity bras, and swimwear or cloth nappies toSupport your NeighbourBeach Maternity.com.auPO Box 2057Edithvale, Vic 3196-ENDS-
